At Exmoor Trim, we pride ourselves on crafting bespoke interiors that reflect the unique style and personality of each of our clients. When @bamfordwatchdepartment  wanted a specific interior, we knew this would be a great project. The task? To create a one-of-a-kind interior for a Land Rover interior using fabric made with the traditional Indian Kantha process. It was a challenge we were excited to take on, and the result was nothing short of spectacular.

The Story Behind the Fabric
Kantha is a centuries-old embroidery technique originating from Bengal, India, known for its intricate patterns and vibrant colours. The fabric often carries a story of its own, with each stitch reflecting the rich heritage and craftsmanship of the artisans who create it. Bamford Watch Department sourced this exceptional material, seeing the potential to turn it into something truly special.

When the fabric arrived at our workshop, we were immediately captivated by its texture and design. The traditional Kantha fabric features layers of old saris sewn together with running stitches, creating a beautiful, textured finish that is both durable and visually striking. It was clear that this fabric was more than just a material—it was a work of art, and our job was to ensure it found the perfect home inside a Land Rover.

The Transformation: From Fabric to Interior
At Exmoor Trim, we believe that every detail matters. Our team of expert craftsmen set to work, carefully planning how to incorporate the Kantha fabric into the Land Rover's interior while preserving its integrity and beauty. The fabric's bold patterns and vibrant colours were a perfect match for the rugged yet refined aesthetic of the Land Rover.

Each seat was meticulously crafted to highlight the unique features of the fabric, allowing the intricate stitches and patterns to take centre stage. The contrast between the traditional Kantha design and the modern lines of the Land Rover created a stunning visual effect that is truly one-of-a-kind.

But we didn’t stop there. We extended the Kantha fabric to other elements of the interior, including the centre seat and benches, to create a cohesive and immersive experience. The result was an interior that not only looks incredible but also tells a story—a testament to the craftsmanship of the Kantha artisans and the vision of Bamford Watch Department.
