At Exmoor Trim, we understand that a Land Rover is more than just a vehicle; it’s a lifestyle. For many of us, that lifestyle includes our beloved canine companions. Whether you're embarking on a rugged off-road adventure or a peaceful countryside drive, having your dog by your side makes the journey even more special. In this blog, we explore why Land Rovers and dogs make the perfect pair and share tips on how to ensure your furry friend is safe and comfortable on every adventure.

“Ax likes nothing better than lounging in the back of a Land Rover. Wrong. He prefers driving at speed with his nose in the wind and his ears flapping. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.”

Why Land Rovers and Dogs Are a Perfect Match

1. Space and Comfort: Land Rovers are known for their spacious interiors, making them ideal for transporting dogs. With ample room to stretch out, your dog can enjoy the ride just as much as you do. The versatility of the cargo area allows for easy installation of dog beds, crates, and other accessories to keep your pet comfortable.

2. Durability and Toughness: Dogs can be messy, especially after a romp through mud and water. Land Rovers are built to handle rough conditions, and their interiors can be equipped with durable, easy-to-clean materials. From waterproof seat covers to heavy-duty floor mats, Exmoor Trim offers a range of products designed to protect your vehicle while keeping it pet-friendly.

3. Adventure-Ready Design: Whether you’re heading to the beach, mountains, or forest, Land Rovers are built to take you (and your dog) wherever you want to go. Their off-road capabilities mean you can explore new terrains without worrying about getting stuck or encountering obstacles that your vehicle can’t handle.

Tips for Traveling with Your Dog

1. Safety First: Ensure your dog is secured during travel to prevent accidents. Use a harness that attaches to the seatbelt, a pet barrier, or a sturdy crate. This not only keeps your dog safe but also prevents distractions while driving.

2. Comfort is Key: Make your Land Rover a comfortable space for your dog. Add a cozy dog bed or blanket in the cargo area and ensure they have access to water. On longer trips, plan regular stops for bathroom breaks and to let your dog stretch their legs.

3. Keep It Clean: Protect your vehicle’s interior from fur, dirt, and moisture with Exmoor Trim’s range of pet-friendly accessories. Our seat covers, defeater mat, and floor mats are designed to withstand the wear and tear that comes with traveling with pets.

4. Ventilation and Shade: Ensure your dog has adequate ventilation and shade, especially on hot days. Rolling the sides up of your Exmoor Trim hood to let a breeze in!

5. Pack the Essentials: Bring along everything your dog might need for the trip, including food, water, bowls, toys, and any medications. A first-aid kit for your dog is also a good idea in case of minor injuries or emergencies. Our canvas storage solutions are perfect for this!

At Exmoor Trim, we believe that every journey is better with a dog by your side. Our range of pet-friendly accessories ensures that your Land Rover is equipped to handle all the adventures you and your furry friend embark on together. So load up, buckle in, and hit the road – the great outdoors are waiting for you and your canine companion!

Ollie from @clutch_drop with Oscar the French Bulldog

“Pint sized dog with big character and loads of energy, loves being outdoors and loves sitting alongside me in the Series 1. Whether it’s running errands around the city or out for early morning walks in the desert or mountains. He’s especially happy if those trips includes a breakfast or sundown BBQ.

Summer is his downtime due to the heat, but from Autumn to Spring the Series 1 is his preferred mode of transport, screen down and wind in his ears. Exmoor trim interior means I can wipe down the sand, dust or the mud from the Mountain streams (wadis)/

Next addition will be a Exmoor Trim canvas roof mostly to use for shade on the longer drives.”
